G2G and Rene Cassin Present: Then and Now, Learning from Refugee Experiences.

Marking World Refugee Day we reflect on past and present refugee experiences from different communities in the UK. We hear from those involved in helping refugees and from refugees themselves. The panel includes Marina Berdochnik recently arrived from Ukraine, Farida Stanikzai originally from Afghanistan and now Operations Manager for New Citizens Gateway (originally Barnet Refugee Service) and G2G’s co-chair Helen Stone, whose mother arrived in the UK in the 1930’s from Nazi Germany. The discussion will be facilitated by Monica Boh-Duchen, founding director of Insiders Outsiders which celebrates the contribution made by refugees from Nazi Europe to British culture.
