Diana Cook will tell the story of why and how her German born mother, Margot Pogorzelski, came to England in 1939 to be a nurse, a few weeks before war broke out. She was 19 years old. Diana will also tell us what happened to Margot’s mother and two brothers left behind in Germany. Her family came from Freystadt, near Breslau, now the Polish city of Wroclaw.
Diana’s presentation uses family photos and voiced extracts from a brief memoir written by her mother.
